The Design

Tecno Phantom 6 Plus features a full metal body. It is a metal-unibody design, so the back is not removable. The body is constructed with an aluminium magnesium alloy with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covering the front. The phablet is available in a Champagne Gold finish.

Display and Camera

Tecno Phantom 6 Plus sports a 6.0-inch LTPS Display. The display offers 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution, which is the same as its predecessor, the Tecno Phantom 5 and the more compact Phantom 6.

The Phantom 5 was hailed by its users for having a great camera, the Tecno Phantom 6 Plus is set to carry on the legacy with a Sony IMX230 sensor on the back. It is a 21 megapixels camera with support for phase detection autofocus and dual LED flash.

The Android phone sports an 8 megapixels camera with LED flash.

Hardware and Software

Tecno Phantom 6 Plus is powered by the Mediatek Helio X20 chipset. The SoC offers a deca-core processor broken-down into two quad-core processors clocked at 2.0GHz and 1.55GHz respectively and a dual-core processor clocked at up to 2.1GHz.

The powerful processor is paired with 4GB of RAM, which should make the Tecno Phantom 6 Plus great for gaming and streaming movies. Tecno claims the phablet performs 70% better and consumes 30% less power compared to the Phantom 5.

Tecno Phantom 6 Plus runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and provides you with 64GB of built-in storage with no support for microSD cards. With support for 4G LTE Cat6, the phone boasts of download speeds of up to 300 Mbps, which means faster downloads and streaming. Tecno Phantom 6 Plus supports LTE on MTN, Etisalat, Smile, NTel, and InterC in Nigeria.

The battery is non-removable with a capacity of 4050 mAh. Tecno Phantom 6 Plus supports fast charging via its reversible USB Type C Port. With just 10 minutes of charge the Android phablet can deliver 240 minuets talktime.

Dual Biometric Security

Tecno Phantom 6 Plus is one of a few phones that now boasts of dual biometric security, joining the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. The phablet features a fingerprint sensor like its predecessor, but also adds a more secure iris scanner.

This security feature enables you unlock your phone with your fingerprint or eye scan, or both. You can also use them to limit access to confidential files and folders.

Tecno Phantom 6 Plus comes with a gift box that offers you some free accessories. The gift box includes an earbud, a USB Type C adapter, SIM Eject tool, Leather cover with Windows Display, and a Tampered Screen Protector.
